DAY GROSS NATIONAL HAPPINESS - MOTORBIKE TOUR
1 Arrival at Bagdogra/Siliguri. Airport pick-up 50km transfer to Mirik hill station.
2 For some time we cruise along the Nepal border and along tea estates towards Darjeeling.
3 A windy downhill ride before crossing into Sikkim is followed by another uphill climp to Pemayangtse monastery and Pelling.
4 Yuksom and the sacred Khecheopalri lake we visit today.
5 Roller coaster ride to Rumtek monastery near Gangtok.
6 Passing by Sikkims capital Gangtok to Kalimpong, a branch of the old silk road.
7 Down into the plains and along Assams tea plantations into Bhutan.
8 From 200m at Phuentsholing to 2000m in Paro we ride today.
9 A day spent in Paro valley and a visit of the spectacular "Tiger nest" monastery.
10 Backroad ride via our highest point on tour the Cheli La pass (3.780m) to Bhutans capital Thimphu.
11 We climb up to Dochu La (3.100m) drop into Phunaka valley, visit Phunaka Dzong and ride on to Trongsar.
12 A visit to Trongsar Dzong and another beautiful days ride into Bumthang valley to Jakar.
13 Across the highest point on our tour the Thrumsig La deeper into the remote east of Bhutan to Mongar.
14 Via Drametsi across Kori La and trough pine forests along the Yadi loops we ride to Tashigang.
15 Last days ride in Bhutan takes us back into the lowlands again. 200m altitude at our nights stop, Samdrup Jongkhar.
16 The last 130km ride to Guwahati where we can change cloth before boarding our plane to Delhi.
17 Nightflight back to where it all began.
