Motorcycle adventure in Nepal — From Kathmandu to the Hidden Kingdom of Mustang

This extraordinary motorcycle tour through Nepal starts in Kathmandu, the lively capital, which is located in a valley at the foot of the Himalayas. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in the lively Thamel district. For a cultural start, we'll visit medieval Durbar Square — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and architectural gem that is deeply rooted in the history of Nepal.

We will then travel comfortably for around three hours to Nuwakotwhere our bikes are already waiting for us. We start the journey gently with a short warm-up (yes, left-hand traffic!) and take time for individual adjustments. We spend the night in a cozy nature resort — the perfect place to arrive and settle in.

Our main goal is mustang, also known as the Kingdom of Lo — a region full of myth, spirituality, and strong Tibetan influence. Strategically located on the ancient trade route between Tibet and India, Mustang was a cultural and commercial center for centuries.

It remained an independent kingdom until the 18th century, before it became part of nepal was integrated. Yet the Tibetan Buddhist heritage is still alive today — in language, architecture and spiritual atmosphere. The last king of Mustang, Jigme Dorje Palbar Bista, was a revered figure until the monarchy was officially abolished in 2008.

Despite political changes, Mustang's cultural identity remains today. Driving through this remote and dramatic region is more than a scenic adventure — it is a journey into a vivid piece of Himalayan history: original, spiritual, and deeply immersive.
